Malaysian Trade Surplus Shrinks In April
(RTTNews) - The Malaysian trade surplus decreased in April as imports grew faster than exports, data from the statistical office showed on Tuesday.
The trade surplus shrank to MYR 5.2 billion in April from MYR 7.7 billion in the same month last year. In March, the trade surplus was MYR 24.8 billion.
Exports grew 16.4 percent annually in April, largely on the back of re-exports, and imports rebounded sharply by 20.4 percent.
On a seasonally adjusted basis, both exports and imports climbed by 5.4 percent and 19.8 percent, respectively, from a month earlier.
