BB&T Q1 Profit Declines - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Regional bank BB&T Corp. (BBT) said it made $488 million, or $0.67 a share of net income available to common shareholders for the first quarter 2015, compared with $496 million, or $0.68 a share, earned last year.

On average, 32 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report earnings of $0.70 a share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The Winston-Salem, North Carolina-based financial holding firm's quarterly total revenue rose to $2.34 billion from $2.31 billion in the comparable quarter last year. Twenty analysts estimated revenue of $2.36 billion for the period.
