Here's Why 3M Shares Slumped Today (and Why It Could Be a Good Buying Opportunity)

3M (NYSE: MMM) stock declined by 5.2% as of 2 p.m. ET today following the company's second-quarter earnings report. Despite the disappointing share price reaction, the results were solid, and there was plenty in the results to make investors feel that management is taking the company in the right direction.Starting with the bad news: 3M's end markets aren't improving as much as management had hoped at the start of the year.
