Wall Street Poised To Open Broadly Up

(RTTNews) - Tuesday, market attention will be mostly on the Consumer Price Index for June, the Empire State Manufacturing Index for July, and upcoming Federal Reserve discussions. Investor sentiments may also be influenced by global geopolitical developments and tariff policy uncertainties.

Early signs from the U.S. Futures Index suggest that Wall Street might open broadly up.

Asian shares finished mostly up, while European shares are trading up.

Gold prices rose on Tuesday was hovering near a three-week high as the dollar index pulled back from a multi-week high. Gold climbed above $3,360 per ounce in the Asian trading session, while oil prices declined.

President Donald Trump has given an ultimatum to Russia to end the war with Ukraine. Trump had threatened Russia's trading partners that tariffs will be approximately 100% if no peace deal with Ukraine is reached within 50 days.

Israel Defense Forces on Tuesday revealed fighting in Hezbollah positions in Lebanon, targeting military sites in the eastern Bekaa Valley.

Meanwhile, Syrian defense and interior ministry troupes are fighting in the southern city of Sweida to halt sectarian violence that has left over 100 people dead.

As of 8.15 am ET, the Dow futures were down 85.00 points, the S&P 500 futures were adding 15.50 points and the Nasdaq 100 futures were up 105.50 points.

On the economic front, the Consumer Price Index or CPI for June will be issued at 8.30 am ET. The consensus is up 0.3 percent, while it was up 0.1 percent in the prior month.

The Empire State Manufacturing Index for July will be released at 8.30 am ET. The consensus is minus 10.0, while it was minus 16 in June.

Four-month Treasury Bill auction will be held at 11.00 am ET.

San Francisco Fed President Michelle Bowman will give welcome remarks before the 'Unleashing a Financially Inclusive Future' conference hosted by the Federal Reserve at 9.15 am ET.

Richmond Fed President Thomas Barkin will speak on 'Forecasting Beyond Today's Data' before the Greater Baltimore Committee at 1.00 pm ET.

Boston Fed President Susan Collins will speak on 'A View from the Federal Reserve' before the National Association for Business Economics 22nd Annual Economic Measurement Seminar at 2.45 pm ET.

Dallas Fed President Lorie Logan will give opening remarks before an event of the World Affairs Council of San Antonio at 7.45 pm ET.

Asian stocks rose broadly on Tuesday. China's Shanghai Composite Index dropped 0.4 percent to 3,505.

Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index rallied 1.6 percent to 24,590.12.

Japanese markets advanced. The Nikkei 225 Index rose 0.6 percent to 39,678.02. The broader Topix Index finished marginally higher at 2,825.31.

Australian markets ended at a record high. The benchmark S&P/ASX 200 Index rose 0.7 percent to 8,630.30, while the broader All Ordinaries Index closed up 0.7 percent at 8,875.30.

European shares are trading higher. CAC 40 of France is adding 10.13 points or 0.13 percent. DAX of Germany is gaining 24.20 points or 0.10 percent. FTSE 100 of England is progressing 3.84 points or 0.04 percent. The Swiss Market Index is climbing 205.47 points or 2.21 percent.

Euro Stoxx 50 that provides a Blue-chip representation of supersector leaders in the Eurozone, is up 0.19 percent.
